Hazel Anderson

Hazel Anderson is a Women’s Health Physiotherapist and qualified Pilates instructor with a passion for helping women feel their best. After qualifying with a first-class honours from the University of South Australia in 2011, Hazel worked extensively with elite female athletes. She was head Physiotherapist for the South Australian U19 netball team for three years as well as the Contax Premier League Team. During this time, Hazel cared for many female athletes who required specific guidance and support on returning to sport after pregnancy. In order to supplement her Physiotherapy exercise prescription, Hazel completed a Certificate IV in Rehabilitation. Hazel is passionate about teaching women to better understand how their bodies work, so they can achieve their health and exercise goals. Hazel believes in taking an empathic and caring approach in order to provide individualised and evidence-based treatment plan for each patient. She believes that each patient is the ‘expert’ of their own body and believes a great partnership between therapist and patient is paramount to treatment success.

Hazel is currently studying a Masters of Pelvic Health through the University of Melbourne and is well experienced in the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor conditions such as urinary incontinence, faecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and sexual pain. She has a special interest in chronic pelvic pain conditions such as endometriosis and enjoys working with women to piece together their individual ‘pain plan’. Hazel has also undertaken extensive further training in the assessment and treatment of Diastis Recti and incorporates Real Time Ultrasound Training to help women regain core strength after pregnancy.

Hazel is also able to advise and fit ring and cube pessaries for women with pelvic organ prolapse.

In her spare time Hazel loves refining her own Pilates technique and is an avid runner, currently training for her third Marathon. When she isn’t in the clinic, Hazel can likely be found hunting down the best new restaurants (or gin distillery). As a self-professed foodie, she knows all of the new hot spots and can talk about flavour profiles for days
