Joanna Conway

Joanna graduated from University College London/London Foot Hospital with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Podiatry in 1997. She has been treating ever since and has worked alongside experts both in the NHS and private sector.

Joanna’s qualification took her overseas to Australia in 2000 where she was the clinical lead and responsible for developing a new podiatry service at a local hospital that incorporated diabetes and wound care treatments, podopaediatrics (study of children’s feet) and biomechanical assessments. She also had the opportunity to work closely with a local Koori Aboriginal tribe in Bairnsdale in the management and prevention of diabetic ulceration and amputations.

On returning to the UK, Joanna continued to expand on her scope of practice. For 3 years, she was a clinical lecturer for a leading biomechanics company in gait analysis and musculoskeletal conditions of the hip, knee, foot and ankle. She then went on to work within the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham in a specialised heel pain clinic; working alongside a wide team of orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, physiotherapists and rheumatologists.

Joanna now continues to work within private practice. She treats a wide range of podiatry conditions including bunions, fungal infections, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, neuromas (trapped nerve in the toes), sports injuries, Achilles tendinitis, shin pain and many more foot or leg related issues. Her specialisms include podopaedriatics, sports injuries, nail surgery and diabetic related foot issues.
