Rosie Jacks
Rosie Jacks is a Women’s Health and Musculoskeletal Chartered Physiotherapist and yoga instructor. Since qualifying with a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy in 2015 from Brunel University, Rosie has gained a large amount of experience in many areas of physiotherapy, but she has found her vocation in treating women with pain and difficulties around pregnancy, incontinence and prolapse. She is enthusiastic and passionate about treating and empowering women to reach their full potential. She endeavours to treat her patients holistically, individually and with compassion, using the evidence and her training to guide her. Rosie is highly trained and currently also works in the NHS as a Highly Specialised Women’s Health Physiotherapist alongside her private work.
Rosie is well experienced in pelvic floor assessment and treatment, including prolapse, urinary and faecal incontinence, and sexual pain – whether this is related to pregnancy and birth, the menopause, or otherwise. She regularly treats patients with pelvic pain and musculoskeletal conditions ante- and post-natally, including Pelvic Girdle Pain (or SPD), Diastasis Recti and returning to running, and she delights in helping them to achieve their goals. Rosie is also proficient in treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries including (but not exclusive to!) low-back pain, hip, knee and patella pain, ankle sprains, rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, recoveries from surgery, muscle strains and arthritis. Rosie uses a combination of exercise and manual therapy, as well as advice and education to help her patients understand their condition and how to treat it.
Rosie is a qualified yoga instructor and teaches regular classes of Dynamic Vinyasa and Ashtanga. She combines the knowledge of anatomy and physiology with that of movement and breath so that many techniques and exercises overlap from physiotherapy to yoga and vice versa. When she is not practising yoga, Rosie enjoys running and socialising, particularly when she gets to cook! Before studying physiotherapy, Rosie completed a degree in Hispanic Studies, including a year in Chile, and so also speaks (more-or-less!) fluent Spanish.
