We often receive requests for our recommendations on local services, such as pilates or yoga classes. You can now find our recommendations below -  we will be updating this list frequently, so be sure to check back again for more recommendations in the near future!

Pilates & Yoga:

The Garage Studio 

The Garage Studio, run by Murielle Carrasco, one of the first Body Control Pilates teachers to introduce Pilates in SW London back in 1999, is running daily classes, Beginners, Intermediate and Post Natal Pilates as well as Yoga classes.


Pilates Sheen

Pilates Sheen is a centrally located equipment Pilates Studio on Sheen Lane , SW14.  It is owned by Ellen Ernstzen, Chartered Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor who is certified with the Pilates Method Alliance. We offer Private one hour sessions or Semi private (2 people) classes six days a week. The Pilates programme is always tailored to the individual to optimise movement patterns and prevent bad posture and poor alignment. Pilates is a total body strengthening and flexibility programme suitable for everyone.

Postnatal fitness for mums. Group classes and personal training sessions. Online and outdoors. Exercise in nature to boost your mental and physical health. It’s safe for all new mums to join once they’ve had their 6-8 week postnatal check-up with the GP.


Natalie Meddings - Active Birth London

Natalie is a qualified doula and active birth teacher. She is the mother of three children and has been supporting women in birth as a doula for almost 15 years. She is the author of two books, How to Have a Baby and Why Home Birth Matters and the founder of Tell me a good birth story, a national support network connecting pregnant women with women who've had positive birth experiences.


Michelle Gerlis - Comfort & Love

Michele has been a qualified doula since 2005 and has been teaching hypnobirthing since 2013. Michelle qualified as a homeopath in 1997. She is very active in the local community promoting women’s choice in birth. She is currently a member of the West Middlesex Maternity Services Liaison Committee and in 2015 set up a Positive Birth Movement Group Twickenham Area.


Kate Smart Fitness

Kate has been providing fitness training for hundreds of women at all stages of motherhood since 2005 and is passionate about helping women regain and restore their fitness both inside and out. Whether you are newly post-natal, not so post-natal or way beyond the baby stage, Kate's sessions and classes will restore your core, build your strength and drive you on to full fitness.


Judith Brenner

Judith provides compassionate, experienced breastfeeding support in Richmond, Kingston, South West London and Surrey. Her specialisms include small and premature babies, increasing milk supply and weaning from formula feeding.


Claire Marshall - Mind The Bump

Claire provides expectant and new parents with practical and emotional support via 1:1 coaching, hypnobirthing courses or a soon to launch online antenatal baby preparation club. The support is centred around mindfulness and the core values that a stress-free and well prepared parent equals a happy and calm baby.


Lucie Bowden

Lucie is a qualified breastfeeding counsellor and mother of 3, supporting new parents in Barnes, Wimbledon and Wandsworth at NCT and NHS run drop ins.  She works with mothers after the births of their babies, assisting them with all aspects of new parenting as well as helping them to explore their feeding challenges - offering both practical and emotional support as well as information to help Mums to choose how to feed their baby.


Mamawell - Rosie

Rosie founded Mamawell to provide women with the education and insight into their bodies in the pre and postpartum period, and the benefits that exercise can bring, both for strength and energy. After a global career in dance, choreography and teaching, Rosie moved into fitness whilst living in New York and trained at the prestigious Equinox Gym. When Rosie became a mother, she observed the lack of quality information regarding the changes to the body through pregnancy and labour and what this meant for exercise post-baby, and was inspired to help and educate women in this mentally and physically demanding time.

Kelly is a personal trainer specialising in pre and postnatal and women’s health and visits clients at their homes or local areas. She also runs Mums fitness classes where children of any age are welcome. She ensures her sessions and classes are fun whilst providing suitable and safe exercises for all abilities to regain strength, fitness and confidence.

Kelly has a particular interest and passion for helping mothers who have suffered urinary incontinence post pregnancy to help them return to fitness and running, she offers a bespoke service with training tailored to the individual needs of clients. She works closely with specialist Women's Health Physiotherapists to deliver a fully integrated service.

Strong Tribe Fitness

Ron offers both classes and personalised sessions. This is the real thing in terms of ‘personalised’ training - fun, motivating and inspirational.



Invigorate is a local gym at Barnes Sports club. Ken and his team offer great personal training and weekly exercise classes.
