Podiatry / Chiropody
Podiatry, also known as chiropody, is the assessment and treatment of foot and lower leg problems.
We are able to offer you the best advice on foot problems in areas ranging from disorders in children to the management of foot problems in older people. Some of the issues podiatrists deal with include:
- Painful irritations of the feet including corns, calluses & bunions
- Ingrown toenails
- Athletes foot
- Veruccae
- Mortons Neuroma
- Arch trouble
- Sports injuries
- Plantar fasciitis
- Circulation difficulties in the lower extremities often caused by diabetes.
When necessary, our Podiatrists can run a gait analysis and prescribe orthotics which are custom-made to help correct any misalignment in the foot. This can improve the patient’s posture and alleviate pain in the foot or leg. We also run a Foot Scanning service which gives a detailed report on how the pressure is distributed throughout the foot in a range of movements.
Please read this informative blog post on nail surgery here.
We also offer 15 minute nail cutting ONLY appointment for those who struggle to maintain the length of their toenails. This appointment does not include a general foot assessment; an additional 30minute appointment will be required for a more detailed assessment of your foot health.
All of our therapists are registered with the Health & Care Professions Council and treat in an easily accesible treatment space on the ground floor.
