Expert Foot Deformities & Structural Issues Treatment At The White Hart Clinic

Foot deformities and structural issues refer to changes in foot alignment or shape that may affect comfort, footwear fit and pressure distribution when walking. These changes may develop gradually or be present for many years before becoming symptomatic.

Common foot deformities that we can help with:

  • Bunions (Hallux Valgus): A bony bump at the base of the big toe, caused by the joint moving out of alignment, which can make the big toe lean towards the others. Leading to pain and difficulty with footwear
  • Hammer Toes: Toes that bend at one or more joints, creating a claw-like appearance that can rub against shoes and cause discomfort
  • Claw Toes: A more severe deformity where the toes bend upwards at the base and downwards at the joints, often leading to pressure points and corns
  • Mallet Toes: A deformity affecting the tip of the toe, causing it to bend downward
  • Flat Feet (Pes Planus): Reduced or absent arch, which can lead to foot fatigue, pain and altered walking patterns
  • High Arches (Pes Cavus): An exaggerated arch that can place excessive pressure on the heel and forefoot, often leading to instability
  • Overlapping or Crowded Toes: Toes that sit on top of or press against each other, commonly causing irritation and nail problems
  • Tailor’s Bunion (Bunionette): A bony prominence on the outside of the foot near the little toe

How our Podiatrists/ Chiropodists can help:

  • Padding, strapping and offloading techniques to relieve painful areas and prevent rubbing
  • Bespoke orthotics (insoles) to improve foot alignment, support the arch and redistribute pressure
  • Treatment of associated conditions such as corns, calluses and nail problems
  • Exercise and stretching programmes to improve strength, flexibility and foot function
  • Ongoing care and monitoring to help prevent progression of the deformity
  • Referral to our network of specialists where appropriate

As a former sports professional, I've experienced many massage therapists in my time, but I've extensively seen Katherine Ranson over the years and stands out above them all. Her expertise, precision and understanding of the human body are exceptional. Massage is far more than just qualifications and her skills truly sets her apart from the rest. If I had to name a GOAT (Greatest of All time) in this field, it would be her.

Grace gave me a good analysis of my shoulder blade muscle pain followed by a very useful set of exercises. These have worked well and are now part of my routine.

My thanks to Cheli for her excellent massage therapy which is easing a persistent foot & leg injury. She has experience of working with injured dancers (I am not one!) and brings that knowledge to help me. A lovely, kind and thoughtful person - with a holistic approach.

Cheli is brilliant. I have a bulging disc in my neck (C7) which causes numbness in my arms if the stress builds up. A few sessions with Cheli and I’m back to normal. Highly recommended

Grace has been excellent in analysing and treating the pain in the outside of my knee. After the first session there was a vast improvement through the exercises she gave me but this then stayed at a lesser but constant level. Grace was clear in her original diagnosis and added on some more specific exercises/ weights that I can incorporate in my normal session. The pain has now almost gone after 6 sessions over a few months.

I have a superb series of treatments from Grace at the White Hart Clinic. I'd had a long term issue with bicep tendons, and after working with Grace this has completely gone. I would highly recommend this physiotherapist to any current or former athletes in need of support.
