Expert Foot Pain & Heel Pain Treatment At The White Hart Clinic

Foot and heel pain refers to discomfort felt in the sole of the foot, around the heel or through the arch. It may develop gradually or come on more suddenly following a change in activity.

With 1 in 10 people experiencing plantar fasciitis at some point in their lifetime, it’s an extremely common yet limiting condition. The good news is that our podiatrists are here to help.

Common causes of foot and heel pain we treat

  • Plantar fasciitis: Sharp pain between the heel and arch, usually worse when you first start walking and easing with rest
  • Achilles tendinitis: Pain at the back of the heel that may extend into the ankle and calf, often linked to overuse
  • Bursitis: Redness, swelling and a dull aching pain in the heel
  • Tarsal tunnel syndrome: Burning or tingling sensation under the heel or arch, sometimes with numbness in the sole of the foot
  • Ingrown toenails: When the edge of the nail grows into the surrounding skin, causing pain, redness and sometimes infection (read more about nail conditions here)
  • Suboptimal biomechanics: If you have very flat/ high arches or if your feet roll out/in excessively, this can cause avoidable strain at the foot
  • Verruca: Small viral warts that develop on the soles of the feet. They can be painful when weight-bearing and walking. (read more about skin conditions of the feet here)
  • Corns: Small areas of thickened skin that develop due to repeated pressure or friction. They can feel like stepping on a pebble and may become painful when walking. (read more about skin conditions of the feet here)

How our Podiatrists / Chiropodists can help:

  • Pain relief treatments such as padding, strapping or offloading to reduce pressure and ease discomfort
  • Exercise and rehabilitation advice with tailored stretching and strengthening programmes to support recovery and prevent recurrence
  • Footwear advice to guide you towards appropriate shoes that improve support and reduce strain on the foot and heel
  • Orthotic therapy including custom or prefabricated insoles to improve foot function and alignment
  • Treatment of inflammation with advice and care aimed at reducing swelling and promoting healing
  • Ongoing care and prevention to help manage symptoms effectively and reduce the risk of future foot problems

I had an appointment with Levi regarding a foot problem and I was so impressed with his knowledge and attentive detail, providing a much more holistic service than you would expect to receive.

As a former sports professional, I've experienced many massage therapists in my time, but I've extensively seen Katherine Ranson over the years and stands out above them all. Her expertise, precision and understanding of the human body are exceptional. Massage is far more than just qualifications and her skills truly sets her apart from the rest. If I had to name a GOAT (Greatest of All time) in this field, it would be her.

Grace gave me a good analysis of my shoulder blade muscle pain followed by a very useful set of exercises. These have worked well and are now part of my routine.

My thanks to Cheli for her excellent massage therapy which is easing a persistent foot & leg injury. She has experience of working with injured dancers (I am not one!) and brings that knowledge to help me. A lovely, kind and thoughtful person - with a holistic approach.

Cheli is brilliant. I have a bulging disc in my neck (C7) which causes numbness in my arms if the stress builds up. A few sessions with Cheli and I’m back to normal. Highly recommended

Grace has been excellent in analysing and treating the pain in the outside of my knee. After the first session there was a vast improvement through the exercises she gave me but this then stayed at a lesser but constant level. Grace was clear in her original diagnosis and added on some more specific exercises/ weights that I can incorporate in my normal session. The pain has now almost gone after 6 sessions over a few months.

I have a superb series of treatments from Grace at the White Hart Clinic. I'd had a long term issue with bicep tendons, and after working with Grace this has completely gone. I would highly recommend this physiotherapist to any current or former athletes in need of support.
