Walk, Run, and Move Freely
Expert Hip Pain Treatment At The White Hart Clinic
Hip pain and discomfort can be felt in or around the hip joint. The hip joint is where the thigh bone (femur) connects to the pelvis. It is one of the largest joints in the body and plays a pivotal role in movement, supporting weight and maintaining balance. Hip pain can develop gradually over time or come on suddenly following an injury, and may affect the ability to walk, sit or exercise comfortably.
Common hip conditions we treat:
- Hip Osteoarthritis: Wear and tear of the hip joint, leading to stiffness, reduced mobility and pain, especially during weight-bearing activities
- Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome (GTPS): Pain on the outside of the hip caused by irritation of tendons or bursae
- Hip Impingement (FAI): Abnormal contact between the hip bones, often causing pain with movement or prolonged sitting
- Labral Tears: Damage to the cartilage lining of the hip socket, leading to pain, clicking or instability
- Muscle Strains: Injury to the muscles around the hip, often linked to sport or sudden movements
- Bursitis: Inflammation of the fluid-filled sacs that cushion the hip joint
- Tendinopathy: Irritation or degeneration of tendons around the hip joint due to overuse
